KARINA BARAHONA | 200E-RYT | 500CYT | REIKI II | AERIAL YOGA I
I floated in and out of practice trying to find a movement style that I enjoyed while in college. Barre was my first love, and I started teaching Barre classes in 2015 . It was because of the attention to form and the hands on corrections that I became interested in learning about the body and how it moves. I decided to go through my yoga teacher training in the summer of 2018 in Spain. It was an intensive, fully immersive experience, and I do not regret it.
I love an appropriate challenge to the body, one that feels so good to overcome but not leaving you scared to try again. By complete accident, I took a Yin class and knew that I had to learn more about this style. I decided to dedicate 300 hours to learning about Yin, meridians of the body, and myofascial release.
My movement classes can range from challenging and sweaty to slow and effortless, to extremely relaxed. I love the different styles I teach because I think there’s more than one way to move, and oftentimes our bodies go through phases that call for certain movements. I am a licensed skydiver, have two cats and love working on my strength. Hope to see you in my classes!
